Connection Ball
Improves:
- Arm Connection
- Wrist Connection
- Short Game stability
Description:
The Connection Ball builds on the same feedback principle as the Compression Ball, but hones in specifically on arm and wrist connection — one of the most common breakdowns in both the full swing and short game.
Strap the ball to your forearm and take your swing. As long as your wrists and arms stay connected and move as one unit, you'll keep a clear feel of the ball. The moment your wrists get too active or break down independently of your arms, that connected feel disappears — giving you instant, honest feedback on exactly when your structure falls apart.
How to use it:
Strap the ball around your forearm, just below the elbow, and start with slow chip and pitch shots to build the connected feeling in a low-speed environment. Once that feels natural, progress to full swing reps. It's just as useful worked into a short game warm-up as it is for full swing training.
Why it works:
Excess wrist movement is a common cause of inconsistent strike, particularly in the short game where small technical breakdowns get magnified at low speed. Training your arms and wrists to move together builds a more reliable, repeatable connection through impact — whether you're hitting a full driver or a 20-yard pitch.
Jack's Coach note:
I love this one for short game work specifically — it's an easy way for players to feel when their wrists are taking over a chip or pitch shot, which is one of the most common reasons for chunked and thinned shots around the green.
